NOSC
goes to Solomon Islands from 27 SEPTEMBER to 10 OCTOBER
2010 with the Invitation from Dr. Ravindra C. Joshi, Senior
Adviser (Agriculture Development), Ministry of Agriculture
and Livestock, Solomon Islands Government.
Background
With Sponsorship from Prof. Dr Norman Uphoff. (CORNELL UNIV./USA)
and the SRI Association of Indonesia (Prof. Dr. Iswandi
Anas) and as well as The Invitation from Ministry of Agriculture
and Livestock (MAL), SOLOMON ISLANDS Government , NOSC will
send their best staff of lady farmer/activist to SOLOMON
ISLAND from 27 SEPTEMBER to 10 OCTOBER 2010 her name is
Ms. Miyatti Jannah for conducting SRI demonstration practical
field training. Miyatty is one of the farmer-trainers working
with NOSC.
NOSC claimed as well that Ms. Miyatty has
been one of the most capable trainers and also an innovator,
working on machines for shredding biomass for compost making,
and transplanting 4-day-old seedling successfully, with
good results, and thereby showing that the researchers and
extensionist who say farmers cant/wont
transplant young seedlings, 10-15 days, that they
are being too paternalistic.
Moreover, This is the first SRI training in Solomon Islands
ever made and done by NAGRAK ORGANIC SRI CENTER 'OF EXCELLENCE
from INDONESIA until TODAY while Other can follow ! :)
